Once again “Good news” because the Josef Herman Cymru Foundation, which has its base in Ystradgynlais, is participating in the National Eisteddfod again this year. The Foundation has participated every year since 2008 offering a prize of £500 to the winner of the “People’s Choice” competition in the Y Lle Celf tent at the Eisteddfod. Each winner has an extremely interesting story and it is very enjoyable for us as trustees to support artists.

Mererid Hopwood announced that Menna Angharad won the Josef Herman People’s Choice Award at the Maldwyn and Borders Eisteddfod 2015.
The description of Menna Angharad’s work in y Lle Celf says that she creates ‘iconic portraits of quite ordinary objects’.
Second was Jason Chart Davies for his paper and silver jewellery, and third was photographer dewi Glyn Jones.
Mererid paid tribute to the late artist and patron of the Josef Herman Foundation, Osi Rhys Osmond, when making the announcement at the Lle Celf on the field in Meifod.
