Our mission
The Josef Herman Art Foundation Cymru is dedicated to promoting an appreciation of the life and work of the Polish artist, Josef Herman and in his name fostering a wider participation in the arts and an awareness of human rights. This is done through our annual schools project, exhibitions, events, lectures, community engagement and support for an annual prize at the Lle Celf at the National Eisteddfod of Wales.

Human Rights
- Annual Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration in January.
- Refugee week events.
- Human rights lectures.
- Sharing the life of Herman through education, the arts and visits to our archive.

Education
- An annual Graduate Award.
- A schools programme, including artist residencies, and online resources.
- An adult lecture programme with a range of virtual and physical lectures on historical and contemporary arts and culture.
- Visits to our archive.

Art
- A Y Lle Celf at the National Eisteddfod people’s choice award and lectures.
- Artist’s Residency programme, including 2 Curwen print residencies to date.
- Arts Auctions (our 2nd arts auction was held to celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2023).
- Video projects, connected to our four main themes Human rights, the Arts, Josef Herman and Education.
- We are working towards Museum accreditation.
